You can then configure the default application for .py files as notepad ++,
and for example, in filezilla, if you navigate to your local files with the
right button and edit them, after saving, it automatically detects the
Files and asks if you want to update the files on the server.

I usually do this, as it is not recommended to edit the files in your final
environment (server), because modifications in the code can lead to bugs,
and I think it is best to test them locally.

Of course, when you need to fix something quickly, the online w2p editor
breaks a good bough. But for full development, I still prefer a good old
publisher.
