I do not remember the reason for that suggestion.

My only concerns are:
1) I would be best to have just one verison online (the most updated
one) even if hosted at multiple places.
2) not break the link in web2py admin (or make a case for changing the
link).

Are you Boris the only one maintaining sqldesigner or are there
mutliple forks?
