That was the point of posting the original text from the book:

"the appadmin UPDATE form shows a link"
this says appadmin uses it, but then

"This behavior can be replicated using the linkto argument of the
SQLFORM"
this says you can use too, and gives an example.

Just playing devil's advocate here.
