The first version was written in August 2007. It was made public on Oct 1, 2007. This group was created on Oct 19, 2007. We moved to Mercurial in Dec 4, 2009. Things have sped up a lot since than. Since 2007 web2py has doubled in size and more than 70% has been rewritten (while keeping backward compatibility).
