great. what did you change in the site update script to preserve
modification dates?

...interesting you should mention this as i'm working on something like this
right now with the following features...
1. selects translation of interest from currently maintained translations
2. lists pages absent from a given translation or in need of updating
ordered by priority. shows current lag time and
3. list pages present in selected translation but not yet provided titles in
page-titles.inc
4. provide link to CVS for exploration of most recent changes.
I'll provide more info tomorrow or early next week...and perhaps something
for critique.
