Thanks for the tips. I found the information, however, it doesn't
appear that there are any supported cameras with the SPCA505A chip. There
are some other SPCA cameras, but I am guessing the drivers for those
probably wouldn't substitute. Would they, or is there something else I
might try?

or the profiler
/Applications/Utilities/System\ Profiler.app/
to find out the USB vendorId and productID. Then figure out by googling or
by opening the camera what chipset it has. Next find the nearest camera in
macam; and change the productId, vendorId in the source into the ones of
your camera (or add these as a variant) - recompile and see how far you
get.
