| Hi, I just received a USB webcam from the Acuvue contact lens people. No information about this camera is known. I am running Mac OS X 10.4.6 on an Intel Mac Mini. The Mac System profiler gives the following information: Generic Digital camera: Version: 0.00 Bus Power (mA): 500 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. Product ID: 0x0561 Vendor ID: 0x04fc I downloaded Macam v0.8.5 and gave it a try. After launch, I get the status message "Connected to Generic SPCA561A Webcam." When I click the Play button, the status says "Playing" but no image appears. As I said, I don't know the manufacture of the camera, but after looking at your list of supported cameras, I suspect it is made by Creative Labs. Does Macam work with this camera? I suspect it doesn't. I have two of these cameras and will give you one to try out if you believe that you can get the driver to work with it. Let me know. Thanks. Hugh Scott |
