Sorry, I didn't mean to be huffy but I didn't know how else to get my question answered.
The good news is that I installed 0.8.8 and everything is working much better. The quality in the Macam app is much better and Skype no longer crashes with the component installed in the QT folder. My next step will be to compare the quality side by side with the ISight camera on my MacBook which I will do later today. The compression slider is greyed out so I can't use it. How do I change that? As for the nabble.com link, I have no idea how that got there. Sorry.
