I am running both a macbook pro and an intel duo core mac mini. I
have plugged two usb cameras into them (logitech quickcam for
notebook and creative webcam live) and downloaded maccam 0.8.8 and
installed the quicktime component. When I try to record a video in
QTPro 7 the camera is recognized and I can record the video. However
when I stop the recorder the recorded video comes up and then the
spinning ball of death starts to spin, and spin, and spin. I try to
force quit QT (not responding), the arrow is still below QT in dock
but it won't open. I can get info on the movie and watch the preview
of it or even watch it in maccam. I thought maybe it was a QT issue
but when I tried to record using Maccam I could see the camera and
record and even watch the movie after it is captured (real jerky
though) but maccam won't quit when I shut it down or try to force
quit. I have tried both cameras with my dual 1.8 G5 powermac and
they work fine with QTPro 7 and maccam 8.8.

I think it is either a quicktime issue or maccam with intel
processor. I would really appreciate some help on this as I am
preparing a lecture to show teachers how to use a usb camera and
QTPro to make videos of lectures and demonstration to show to their
students.

Thank you all for all that you do. I used xpostfacto for years and
still have it on my old 8600 running a G4 450 running 10.4. I have
paid for the the support help, but that is a small amount for all you
do.
