No reply needed: I know that drivers for this webcam are
experimental, but since I have one, I thought I would submit a short
report.
Procedure:
1. Updated to lastest Logitech drivers (qc801mac_enu). Rebooted.
2. QuickCapture application can't find camera.
3. Tossed out old QuickTime driver component and installed new one.
4. Plugged the cam into the second built-in USB 1.1 port (Normally
connected to a USB2.0 port on a Windows XP machine). Rebooted.
5. Placed Macam in the folder /Applications/Multimedia/Macam. Fired
up Macam: reports no camera. Unplugged and plugged camera in again.
Still no camera.
6. Quit both iChat and Skype and restarted them. Camera doesn't show
as an option.
7. Uninstalled Logitech drivers, rebooted, and repeated steps 4–6:
Still can't find the camera.
8. Noted while reading Logitech's details that they don't support OS
X for versions > 10.2.x!
Query: I only have USB 1.1 on this Mac. Is it possible that the
camera won't run on it at all? Specs say it will, at reduced resolution.
