Hi,
I have read as much as I could to find a fix to this problem, but no luck so
far. It's all the more difficult for me since I don't have access to a
mac - the computer we're trying to get this to work for is at my
mother-in-law's... Mother's Day present to let her see her grandkids...
Anyway, the problem is as follows: macam (latest version, 0.9.1) has been
installed, and the Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX (possibly a newer
version than the original, product #961464-0403,
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2204,CONTENTID=11932,
picture attached) works - which is to say that it shows video on the screen
of the mac itself. The problem is when we try to use Skype, Skype cannot
see the camera as an available video device. We had the same problem using
iChat as well as the shareware adapter. So camera good, camera + video
calling software no good. Please let me know if there's something I can do
to fix this, or somewhere else to go for help.
Also, the computer in question is a previous-generation iMac (w/ spherical
base), running the latest version of OSx (10.4.9).
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best,
Phil
