Please try 'run-layout-tests --help' to see the command line options of run-layout-tests script. The '--new-test-results' and '--reset-results' options will help you generate the expected file. You may also want to read http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/CreatingLayoutTests to learn the different types of layout tests.
