The WebKit project doesn’t use the unconfirmed state in any significant way. We probably should turn it off on bugs.webkit.org. There’s very little distinction between an unconfirmed bug and a new bug. I don’t think you really need that privilege on your account, although there’s also no harm on giving it to you.
