That was incredibly useful! Thanks!

Hello.

You can find the basics on the wiki
(http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/WebCoreRendering). I hava a working
implementation of offscreen rendering but works only on older WebKit
revisions. Currently I'm investigating why my patches won't work on
newer revisions.

I think the new code checks if the target widget is visible and only
layouts and styles the page if it is (which is understandable). But it
is not what I would like because I don't display any widgets.

I'm interested in building a web browser plugin from webkit on a
platform that has a unique graphics system. I need to have a C api to
it.

Overall, I'm finding the big pile of code rather daunting and wonder
if there isn't some kind of overall architecture document, or theory
of operation paper that explains all the pieces and protocols and
where one should insert their own code if wanting to embed WK into a
new environment.

Pointers to anything like the above appreciated. Even a map of what
is in what directory would be great.

Thanks
