I just tried recreating this with WebKit nightly r49078, and my initial
test with the original HTML (no "delete xmlHttp" in the code) yields no
memory growth, like I thought I saw before. I also tried adding the
"delete xmlHttp" as I did before, also no memory growth (none expected
though).
I'm pretty consistent about keeping up with nightlies, occasionally miss
one here or there, but if someone wants to diff, I originally did the
test on Oct 1 or 2.
Or maybe I was seeing things.
