I am trying to build with Visual C++.. I am not trying to build from within CygWin. I tried building from CygWin earlier, but stopped as I was getting some weird errors. So, I decided to try with Visual C++.

With that said, what part does CygWin play when I am building from Visual C++. I included CygWin in the Executable files options in the IDE. Should I define the right order within Visual C++ for the build to find the right components to use?

Cygwin is used for processing various projects' DerivedSources.make files, even when building from within Visual Studio. It's possible it's used for a few other things, too.
