Hi,

Our Windows bots are currently only building. We previously used Windows XP VM images to run these builds, but running the VM images caused a major performance slowdown on our server and the build was too slow to be feasible (1.5 - 3 hours).
The bots are currently cross-comiling with mingw on Linux.

I think it would be possible to create a Windows 7 environment for building, but this bot would be much slower than the current one since we do not have extra hardware for this. I think separating builder and tester bots for this platform would make running layout tests also possible, but the test environmet still needs some work, since we never seriously tried to run tests on Windows.

We'll discuss this with Ossy and try to figure out a solution.

Hello,

We have two build bots on Windows. But unless I really missed something they
are just building, they don't run the layout tests.

What version of Windows is that? XP?

I was wondering if we could get one running on Windows 7 and how much work it
requires to get the layout test running (whatever is the skiplist) a bit like
the recent Mac bots.

So we could have a better coverage on this omnipresent OS and we could slowly
work on make things better there.

Thanks.
