No, it's [probably] wrong code, I just [probably] misread the EXPORT
documentation.  Tell me what you think:

What is confusing is that no one using the Darcs repo ran into a problem
before.  I suppose it is one of those schroedinbugs.

Could you add this line *between* the two exports and try it again from
scratch?

(import 'fluid-database '#:clsql)
