I suppose it was #2. After I had changed cl-cont, for some reason the
old binaries were still being referenced. Removing all the binaries
helped.
I could be missing something because I'm not sure I understand what
you are saying about #3. All that operation is doing is loading the
files (compiling them if they already aren't). The files from cl-cont
will have to be loaded anyway  because they are in the dependency path
for weblocks  ........
