Hi,
Has anyone succeeded in deploying their WO 5.3.1 application as a
true war on Solaris. I haven't been able to deploy since the
upgrade. We had purchased Mac OS X Server for the license and the
box is still shrink wrapped. That license key worked for WO 5.3 on
Solaris, but not for WO 5.3.1. The license key is rejected.
However, it deploys just fine on Mac OS X. Any suggestions on what I
can do?
Apple Software Licensing was unhelpful in resolving this issue. It
is unclear whether they can provide a means for deployment on a non-
Apple platform and they refuse to say. Rather they just point me to
the software license agreement instead of simply answering the
question. I wouldn't mind paying $699 for the license, but I want to
be reassured that the license will actually work.
Does this mean that WebObjects will never again deploy on any other
platform? That's really too bad, since Apple went through the
trouble of making it J2EE compliant. Now I am stuck trying to figure
out how to keep a big project current.
