yes, I'm using Sever, and monitor is running since I'm using it to configure my site. also, through monitor I can tell the wotaskd is also running since Monitor is telling me my Host is running. When I click the big blue Yes, the Adaptor Config as sent to Local WOAdaptors - All Running Applications and Instances section shows all my instances with negative IDs, however the Adaptor Config as written to disk -section shows them with positive IDs. Reading the following section from the deployment doc, I don't understand why adding instances through monitor is sending the Adapter a negative ID...
"Note that the instance ID of the Monitor process is negative. When wotaskd receives a lifebeat from an unregistered application instance (one that has not been added to your site through Monitor), it discloses the instance to the web server with a negative ID number. This allows developers (internal users) to connect to development instances through the HTTP adaptor for testing purposes. To address security concerns, external users can connect to instances with negative ID numbers only if they know the instance’s port number. However, this behavior can be disallowed by setting WODirectConnectEnabled to false. See “WODirectConnectEnabled” for details. To connect to a development instance through the web server, the instance must run on the same computer that the web server runs on, and the computer must be the localhost."
