Hallo,
Will WO 5.2.4 deployment also run/install on windows 2003 Server?
Any experiences/known issues?
I don't know.
Will WO 5.3 run on windows.... probably not, we would then probably
need tomcat or the like and need to deploy as servlet, right?
The installer won't run, but it is all just Java and resources. You
could install it manually. It would work with Apache on Windows as
usual and I don't see why IIS would not still work as well.
Will an app created with WO 5.3 but deployed on windows with 5.2.4
run on this environment? Any experiences?
It will run as along as both are on JDK 1.4.2 (or 1.5 if you must)
and no WO 5.3 API is used.
Any security issues with WO on windows I need to know about (caveats)?
Not that I have ever heard of beyond the usual IIS and Apache things.
Thanks for some insight. We consider to deploy a project on windows
which relies on a MS SQL datasource anyway so to have the app on
the same server as the database seems reasonable at the moment (as
it will not have much traffic in the near future).
