Another method relies on the fact that WebObjects will look for components in a certain order, so if the search order is:

   skin1
   main project

Any .wo files in skin1 will be loaded over those in the main project.

Do you mean by putting those files in different Frameworks and having those Frameworks load in a specific order?

It depends on when you want to switch skins:

  1. Runtime: override the search path on a session by session basis.

2. Build time: put any .wo overrides for a skin in its own framework, link it with the main executable, it will look in there first.

For that matter, there's always WOSwitchComponent. At my site 90% of the look/feel is one component called "PortfolioFrame", which is the basic wrapper for every page.

WOTip: Have a common superclass for your components, pages, and EOObjects. It will help you be DRY
