It is probably a permissions problem on the application Output (log)
file. Your apps were probably running as root before and are not
running as appserver.

Hi list,
We had several apps running in Panther 10.3.9, WebObjects 5.2.4.
Finally we made an upgrade to Tiger Server, WebObjects 5.3.1.
All the apps seem are runnnig Ok. But one of them only starts on
terminal...When we try to start it using javaMonitor we get a
death, We already searched for logs that could help us understand
waht could be happening but could'n't find any...
Does anyone have a clue about what could be happenin for the app
only start by terminal? Is there any log we could get to identify
the cause of the death when starting using JavaMonitor?
Thank you a lot for any help/suggestion.
Bests,
