Hi!
I'm trying to improve the support for rolling updates. This is what
I want to happen when I deploy:
1) The new app is build with the SVN revision automatically
appended to it's name.
2) SiteConfig.xml is updated by the build script to reflect the new
name.
3) Manually use WOMonitor to launch new instances and set the old
ones to die when no more sessions exist.
Step 1 is done.
My problem is with step 2. If I try to change that file manually,
WOMonitor will reset it to the old values, and not reflect the
changes.
What if you don't have it open in a browser window? Are you writing a
syntax error into the file?
What's the best way to solve this? Is there any way I can force
monitor to reload the settings? Does killing and relauching monitor
does the trick? Is that safe for the deployed environment?
JavaMonitor is (mostly) an editor for that file. It should not make
any difference if you stop and restart it. Or don't run it at all.
Anjo added some things to the JavaMonitor in Wonder that may be of use
to you.
