I have started it with and without -WODirectConnectEnabled=false in JavaMonitor.

Yeah... If that's exactly what I typed, obviously that's a syntax error.

-DWODirectConnectEnabled=false
-WODirectConnectEnabled false

Either of those. No mixing and matching. :-)

In any case, (a) it's working now, but (b) I don't know why. The list archives seem to suggest that '-WODirectConnectEnabled true'

false you mean?

No, I meant 'true', but I might be wrong. The archived postings I'm referring to are quite old, e.g. here's one from 2004:

Direct Connect is said to be "on by default", though it's in WO 5.2.3. Maybe that's different now.

is JavaMonitor's default, but I don't seem to be seeing the effects of this in non-Wonder applications. I'm confused, though my app is deployed so I'm also happy.

A few versions back it would automatically add - WODirectConnectEnabled false. Now you have to add it. No, I don't know why.

I'm adding it explicitly now, and the app is deployed and accessible from the outside. I just don't know if those two facts are related. :-)
