Hi all,

I am trying to deploy on a fresh install of 10.5.6 (10.5.0 install -> 10.5.6 Combo), PPC machine. It's an app I have deployed on another Intel machine full time.

What I did: all the usual stuff. Installed the tools, updated to WO5.4.2 (the version I am currently developing and deploying with),

5.4.2 was buggy....

Yay.

configured Apache. I've been through the Apache configuration pages on the wiki at least three times. Made launch plists for wotaskd and JavaMonitor, both launch fine. Added my app (that works fine on other machines, the same build) to the usual location, configured it the way I do on other places. Checked permissions for everything, all seems fine (or at least identical to my working deployment).

What happens:

JavaMonitor... I add an instance, start it, it starts up for a bit, then dies. No logs (checked permissions for the log directory too, and paths as well).

Command line... I can start the app, and get to "Waiting for requests", but if I copy the entry URL of the app to Safari, I get a "Requested application not found..." message.

Are you using the same command line args that JavaMonitor would add?

Nope. Is there a quick way of getting those, or do I have to manually figure type it all out?

Check the arguments list in the instance details in Monitor.

Are you running it as the appserver user?

You got me here, I forgot how to do this, so I ran it as root. I know: that does me little good if I have a permissions problem. The thing is, I checked the permissions, the relevant stuff seemed fine. But, I will go back to this, try to properly mimic the app start.

# su - appserver
% cd /Library/WebObjects/Applications/MyApp.woa
% ./MyApp

Any thoughts? I don't know where to look. It's a clean install, I went over all the settings a number of times and am still at a loss.

Maybe something here might spark a thought:

This does not chime with the localhost setup that I am trying to get going, according to the instructions on the wiki...

Permissions. Right. I triple checked the log destination permissions, app executable permissions, and it all looks as it should be.

Well, the instance never really starts up, according to JavaMonitor...
