To be safe, an hour ago I registered whywebobjects.org, whywebobjects.net, and (my favorite) whywebobjects.info.

If the traffic is not too terribly high, I don't mind hosting the site.  Unfortunately, somehow I never saw the original site.  Would a wiki-based site be well suited for this?

Open to suggestions!  :-)

Regards,
Mark

If the community can come up with a different name that's available, I will register it and make sure it stays registered.  Managed hosting is our business so we do this all the time.  That is, if Dov is willing to keep on running the site;  we aren't set up for WO hosting (yet).  We'll just point the domain at the site on his server.

whyusewebobjects.com and whynotwebobjects.com are both available.  Any better ideas?

I am not sure, usually the starting price is $200/domain. I think I would pass just on the principal. Some [EMAIL PROTECTED] business model banks on ripping other people off just frosts my cake – grrrrr

Hi Dov,

Just wondering, how much does this 'mean spirited' person want? Maybe we can share the cost... I thought this site was very beneficial to our community.

The domain expired and was snagged by some stupid domain squatter that wants money to get the domain back.

Please fix it up! This is a disaster...
I thought this was our great shared site to promote WO to the WORLD.

I have moved my blog (getoutandwo.com) and started putting together a list of useful WO links.  In the process I noticed that whywebobjects.com now goes to one of those icky fake search engine sites with the Firefox-defeating pop-up ads.  There are quite a few people out there who are linking to it and you might want to remove those links, unless/until whoever it was that owned it manages to buy it back.
