Take Classic as an example. Its the compatibility mode introduced in 2000/2001 with the beta and first releases of Mac OS X. It is deprecated but still works on PowerPC-based Macs. It was not ported to Macs running on Intel (although Apple clearly could have done this if they felt there was a need).

Which might be a more fitting example. Classic was deprecated when? 2004, 2005? What is now? 2006?

This is all rather moot until Apple Marketing gets it's act together with some official blurb next week. I sincerely hope it does *not* involve something similar to "handing the responsibility over to our talented colleagues at Project WONDER" or something in that regard. Otherwise, I will loose my good manners.

Anyway, after that everybody can decide for herself if, when and how they need to switch.

Cheers, Anjo
