Hi Chuck,

Take a look at Value Type on this page: http://developer.apple.com/
documentation/WebObjects/UsingEOModeler/4WorkingWithAttributes/
chapter_4_section_3.html

You are probably missing
d--java.lang.Double

Though I STRONGLY recommend
B--java.math.BigDecimal

Doubles are not accurate enough and prone to "off by a bit" errors
going Java <-> JDBC <-> Database

Thanks for the fast reply, works out of the box.

Great news!

Funny how a simple
additional column in EOModeler changes the world. Maybe WO 4 + OS X
Server 1.0 were more different than I thought after the first look at
XCode.

IIRC, this was one of the changed needed / made for Java and pure JDBC.

I'm missing the old help center more than ever...

It has been years since I thought of that app!

Hi,
after some years away from WO development a project brings me back to
it. I?m working on a OS X Tiger, XCode 2.4 and MySQL 5 environment.
Mastering the first normal problems I?m now at a point of no go: I?ve
some fields in my database of type double. After setting the typ for
both internal and external data type to "double" in the info window
EOModeler sets the Value Class to "NSNumber". Trying to store any
value
in the variable of a class containing this type of field I get an
error
message "value type ' ' on attribute 'x' of entity 'y' is invalid. You should fix your EOModel". Trying to insert any calculated values gives
compiler error "incompatible types" when I try to assign a double
variable. On the other hand Integer works without a problem. What?s
wrong? Must I change the class file and change "Number" to "double".
Please help.

Best regards,

 Mike Bobkiewicz
