Hello,
We had talk about building a bigger site and integrating the content from WhyWebObjects to this site.
Did you already decide on a URL ? If not, what about WebObjectsWorld.xyz or WoW! for short. Just an idea. [the exclamation mark would distinguish it from the popular game].
I'm working on a prototype, I hope to get something to show before September.
A question since I wasn't present: Will tbis new site link to existing sites or try to collect "existing" info on the new site ? Sort of like http://www.rubyonrails.org/ as a simple entry portal to the technology ? I'm trying to list the existing WO sites below from my bookmark list. Maybe there could be some consolidation of sites, but I guess that's up for each site owner (James from Wocode.com already proposed opening his site to others on the list)... WikiBook(s) http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Programming:WebObjects http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebObjects Advocacy (Wiki ?) http://www.whywebobjects.org [content from older whywebobjects.com still available ?] Existing Wiki content http://wodev.spearway.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WODev Mac / WO developer directory http://mdd.gebe.net/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MDD.woa/ -> checkbox for WO in Search mask WO Showcase http://www.dyned.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WOShowcase Developer / Resources http://www.objectstyle.org/confluence/homepage.action http://wonder.sourceforge.net/ Code snippets / resources http://wocode.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WOCode Blogs http://homepage.mac.com/kelleherk/iblog/ ... (there may be many here) Local / Other languages http://www.wolfug.org/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WebWolf ... (there may be many here) Please feel free to add to tho the list. I volunteer to port over/categorize Wiki content and links as soon as a new Wiki on whywebobjects.org is up.
