Hello Richard,

As far as developing on Windows through Apple software, it's never been pretty. However, using Eclipse + WOLips, there is a pathway that will be up to date with current WebObjects frameworks.

As for deploying, I am part of a fairly large WebObject project that deploys 5.3 code to Windows with no problems. We have deployment on Windows, Solaris, Linux and Mac OS X, and it hasn't been difficult at all.

Jonny,

at the current WO 5.2 price is nothing of a problem either for us or for the customer. But it would cost us very much, if anything goes wrong . Should any here on the list have made good experiences in both developing/deploying serious stuff with WO 5.3 on Windows, it would be a great news to me. But i'm afraid, most of you do it with Apples or Linux. The current state of the WOLips documentation only confirms my fears that Windows is kind of a bastard in the WO world ;-) .

Richard,

WO 5.3.x comes free with the latest versions of XCode 2.x, which are available with a free ADC account. Therefore there is no need to buy anything. I hope this reduces the uneasiness!
