That may be true, but if you DON'T use it correctly, it would seem the ensuing disasters are a lot worse than a regular EC. Maybe those are also fixed?

I doubt it.  Misuse it and your app is toast.


The real question is whether for a "normal" app, the effort to learn about and properly work w/ SEC is paid back by the gains of using it. I guess we would need to hear from someone who really uses it effectively ... Anyone care to comment on a positive case?

I'm positive that I am glad that I never starting using it?  :-P
