I use YourKit (for which we have a license) and it is the simple
matter of adding -agentlib:yjpagent to the launch flags. AFAIK, the
JProfiler plugin doesn't do any different. And Hyades doesn't work.

I believe Hyades does not work on OS X, and yes, JProfiler is a
commercial application (which is why these are broken out as
separate features that you can optionally not install). I believe
Ulrich and I both have licenses to JProfiler, which is why JProfiler
in particular is supported.
