Example by Pascal will work ok in development mode provided you have
all the images in WebServerResources, e.g:
workspace/MyProject/WebServerResources/base.css
workspace/MyProject/WebServerResources/images/icon.gif
In base.css you can have something like:
h1.my {
background-image: url('images/icon.gif');
}
Browsers request images relative to css file url (not current url), so
you will be ok both in development and production mode.
