If you have a profiler, I would run it under a profiler on OS X
Server
(which really shouldn't make an difference -- I don't know why it
would).
You can also jstack it a couple of times during the long pause and
see what
it's doing during the hang. I would also try putting 5.3 on and
see if it
hangs, also.
