1. install java-1.5-sun and in eclipse->Preferences->java->installed JREs-> select java-1.5-sun not java-1.5.0-gcj-4.2 coming with Ubuntu. 2. should be wobuild.properties
All Linux distributions that are derived from RedHat only provide the GNU JAVA compatibility stuff. The first thing when you want to do JAVA here is to replace that by the SUN or IBM (or perhaps BEA) distribution.
The problem is that many system administrators are not aware of this... :-(
