I knew I should have blamed Peugeot when those two people smashed into
my 206 when it was less than 12 months old! Figures, WebObjects people
would drive Peugeots. They can go wrong, but what is good about them
is really good.
I hate this sentiment that's been around for years about "old school"
to discredit existing systems which might be perfectly good. Used to
be "legacy software". When someone had that on their slides or paper,
caution was needed.
The MobileMe fiasco had nothing to do with technology, but I think
while SJ was careful in his email not to blame anyone, it had to be
some non-technical management somewhere wanting everything done at
once (sounds like a company I was working for) rather than a staged
roll out. I had forebodings beforehand when I heard three major things
were being released all in one week. On the other hand given the
enormity of releases, perhaps Apple should be praised for how well it
actually went... it was a fiasco rather than a disaster.
