sounds suspiciously like you are fetching your entire database somewhere. i'd start with checking your model. look for a relationship(s) that could accidently fault in an entire table. classic example would be something like a client entity that has a relationship to transactions, and one of your clients has done a gazillion transactions. trip that fault and you'll likely run out of memory as the app tries to fault a gazillion transaction EO's.
