Just wanted to ping everyone again regarding this issue. AFAIK the issue was 
fixed in Jenkins 1.399 and 1.400 is available now. Upgrading is completely 
painless. So if your build server is loosing disk space fast, check 
/var/log/hudson and update to Jenkins >= 1.399.
