Hi Saul, I'm surprised that nobody has recommended that you speak to Chuck Hill (or if they did, I didn't see it).
Waaaay back in 2005, he did an interview with Java Posse (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/java-posse-005-interview-chuck/id270165303?i=87505171&mt=2). It's quite out of date in terms of what is "latest", but a lot of the core points he makes are still valid, and he is obviously very knowledgeable, and a good speaker.
