I don't install WO on my dev machines anymore, I just install WOLips in Eclipse and allow Maven to build and manage my WO frameworks. Of course, this setup assumes you'd like to use maven and can use direct connect for development, rather than relying on Apache and/or JavaMonitor. But it simplified my life a lot.
