Hi there,

about ten years ago we have tried multi-instance (with legacy code originally
written ages ago even for non-concurrent R/Rs, ouch), and got into such a big
mess and problems with synchronisation and optimistic locking etc., that we
eventually retreated to single-instance, and sticked with it up to now.

Now we would need to go multi-instance again (we know we'll have to re-write
most of the old code from scratch). If anybody happens to know of some good
resource of good practices (like e.g., “thou shalt never use a fixed primary
key value”, which was one — by far not only — thing which led to big problems
then), I'd be grateful for a link.

Thanks a lot!
OC
