Huh, that's interesting -- hadn't seen that. For anyone else
interested, here's where smartersql is used:
    http://github.com/aaronsw/watchdog/blob/master/schema.py

smartersql has some stuff mine doesn't (e.g., References). Though
_all_tables and a few other things are a bit *too* smarter for my
taste, kinda upvars-like . :-)

But they are very similar in many ways, and mengu noted he'd written
something similar as well (do you have a link, mengu?). I wonder if
this means it should be something that's fleshed out a bit and
included into web.py?
