I'd like to help get this to python 3, but there are lots of little bits (like doctests) which are a pain in the ass to do with a single source.
Given web.py has changed very, very little over the past couple of years, How about we call it stable, permanently branch the source and move forward on a separate python3 branch -- the goal to maintain external API as much as possible, but not try to do it with a single source base.
