OK, I've straightened out my account problems, here's a summary of what's been
done:

Different web browsers (epiphany, konqueror) also fail.

wget http://www.opensolaris.org fails with 'no route to host'
wget http://www.yahoo.com works

traceroute www.yahoo.com looks similar to www.sun.com, i.e:

traceroute to www.sun.com (72.5.124.61), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 129.91.66.4 (129.91.66.4) 0.222ms 0.202ms 0.300ms

I first noticed this problem several months ago, and it applies only to boxes
running Fedora Core 5. Windows & Solaris boxes are fine. I definitely used to
be able to connect to sun.com from these machines, and nothing has changed in
our network infrastructure, which is a cable modem and two routers
(internal/external).

I just finished installing a fresh copy of FC5 onto a different machine, and it
exhibits the same failure, 'no route to host'
