This is probably because Sun removed the wildcard MX records that were
in place for many years, thus requiring that you use a sun.com address
or get your w/s (and/or sac.eng) added to the special list of individual
hosts for which MX records are published.  I just checked and sac.eng
and sac.sfbay are both in the list (i.e., MX records are published for
them), but almas is not (in either form).  IIRC, the .mailrc setting
only affects the From: header, whereas it is the SMTP envelope sender
that is the key here.

On your w/s, as root, run /home/jbeck/bin/mail/set-up-first-last .  People
outside Sun, I could share this script, but its intended use is based on
Sun-internal network configuration, so I suspect its use outside the SWAN
would be rather limited.  :-)
