Doesn't work all that well for me, I'm afraid. The picture looks like it's of a party that nobody's turned up to... The first paragraph: zones is just one of many competing virtualization technologies that do this. Whats different about zones? The 2nd paragraph looks odd to me, as it puts all the technical emphasis on resource management. Getting started: there are many other ways to use zones that ought to be mentioned. I'm not sure if brandz is worth mentioning, as it doesn't support anything I've tried recently. (As opposed to the more general branded zones, but that's more Sun than community driven.) The last line is a bit of marketing, and is slightly odd as it mentions Solaris rather than OpenSolaris. (The two are fundamentally different wrt zones, as well.) We were doing so well with the feature spots, too! (I don't think I'm sure that a feature on zones works that well in general right now - I may be speaking out of turn here, but zones seems to be having a bit of a lull at the moment, whereas there are hotter [erm, cooler..] areas like power management [powertop, suspend/resume] and the desktop [gnome 2.24 and lots of goodies]. But perhaps they're for upcoming slots.) -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/ _______________________________________________ website-discuss mailing list [email protected]
