As a list moderator (not for on-discuss, but for others), I would be very very
happy if mailman offered us such a choice, but the only choices I have right
now are:
- allow my list to be flooded with spam
- trap all mail from unsubscribed addresses for manual review, and require me
to delete 95% of it every few weeks in order to allow the handful of
legitimate messages through
- reject all messages from unsubscribed addresses.
I've chosen the second option, but I know many busy moderators choose the
third, and expect that legitimate posters will see the bounce and subscribe
to the list before reposting.
