I agree with Derek, the .com site is better for getting started (just
like OpenSolaris is better than the Dev edition for the same user
group).  I think part of the confusion comes from searches like this:

<http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=opensolaris&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8>

The top results are all for the .org - I don't know much about seeding
Google results, but it's probably important to try to get the
broadest-audience offering at the top of these results.
